One mobile crew, the whole city. Fast Locksmith Richmond runs licensed technicians across every Richmond neighbourhood — from Steveston's waterfront lanes to the Canada Line towers of Brighouse — with no dispatch fees to reach you wherever you're locked out.
From the heritage fishing village on the south shore to the dense condo corridor along No. 3 Road, every Richmond address gets the same licensed tech, the same upfront quote, and the same response target.
Richmond sits on a river delta — flat, grid-planned, and geographically contained by the Fraser's north and south arms. That geography makes it one of the more consistently serviceable cities in Metro Vancouver. There are no mountain switchbacks or ferry crossings to add time. Our technicians position across the city so that whether a call comes in from a Steveston townhome near the boardwalk or a Hamilton industrial unit off Westminster Hwy, the truck is moving quickly.
The housing stock is genuinely varied. Richmond has some of the highest-density Canada Line condo towers in the region — Brighouse and City Centre along No. 3 Road host dozens of highrise strata buildings where suite deadbolt rekeying, fob programming, and smart lock installation are everyday requests. Moving west, the character shifts toward single-family homes: Broadmoor and Seafair have established neighbourhoods of ranchers and two-storey houses with standard North American lock hardware. Terra Nova and Quilchena near the dykes are newer, with a mix of townhomes and detached homes on larger lots. Steveston is its own world — a historic fishing village with heritage homes, converted fisherman's wharves, and tight residential streets that back onto the waterfront.
The stretch of No. 3 Road between Granville Ave and Westminster Hwy is Richmond's commercial and residential core. Aberdeen Centre, Lansdowne Centre, and Richmond Centre anchor it; above and around them sit dozens of highrise strata towers that house a large share of Richmond's population. Suite lockouts here are common — the combination of key fob building entry and a separate deadbolt on the suite door means residents can find themselves locked out at two points. We carry the hardware to address both: cylinder rekeying for suite deadbolts and, where the building allows, fob re-programming assistance. Canada Line stations at Aberdeen and Lansdowne make this zone easy to stage for — trucks can be positioned centrally and reach most City Centre addresses quickly.
Steveston Village at Richmond's southwest corner is unlike anywhere else in the city. The streets are older, narrower, and lined with heritage homes — many dating to the early twentieth century, with original hardware or mid-century lock upgrades. Residents here are often dealing with older deadbolt cylinders, skeleton-key-era mortice locks on heritage doors, and wooden frames that have settled and need adjustment before a new lock seats properly. We know the difference between a standard B-series deadbolt job and a heritage door that needs a careful hand. Terra Nova to the north and Quilchena nearby have a younger housing stock — detached homes and townhomes built in the 1990s and 2000s, straightforward deadbolt and handle-set work.
The residential west side of Richmond — Broadmoor, Seafair, and the neighbourhoods between Granville Ave and Steveston Hwy — is predominantly single-family territory. These are established neighbourhoods with mature trees, wide lots, and homes ranging from 1960s ranch-style to newer two-storey builds. Lock hardware here tends to be standard Canadian residential grade: Schlage B-series, Weiser, and Kwikset SmartKey are all common. Rekeying after a house sale or tenant change, deadbolt upgrades, and the occasional car lockout in a driveway are the most frequent calls from this part of Richmond.
Hamilton in Richmond's northeast sits along Westminster Hwy near the Alex Fraser Bridge approach — a quieter residential pocket with detached homes and a few strata complexes, relatively close to the Queensborough border. Bridgeport, closer to the Knight Street Bridge, is a mixed zone: River Rock Casino Resort draws traffic to the area, and there are both residential towers and commercial properties along River Road and Bridgeport Road. Sea Island to the north hosts Vancouver International Airport (YVR) and associated hotel and commercial properties — an occasional call we handle for airport-adjacent staff and travellers who've locked keys in a rental. Ironwood in the south anchors a retail and townhome cluster near Steveston Hwy and No. 5 Road.
When you call, a real person answers — not a menu. We confirm your address, give you a quoted range for the work, and dispatch the nearest available truck. Our vans carry a full set of picks, a key-cutting machine, and standard residential and commercial lock hardware, so the large majority of jobs close on the first visit. We don't charge a trip fee for addresses within the Richmond coverage zone, and we don't add a surcharge for calling after hours.
